We can read the most horrific things about any person we want. We can read the most twisted things about any person we want. We can read the most vile and disgusting things about any person we want.
That’s not a bad thing at all, but it does have a negative connotation. We are all so busy that it can be hard to remember that everything we say and do is just out of our control. It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to control every single interaction we have because we have so much to lose — our jobs, our relationships, our health, our lives.
We are also being taught to live life as if there is no tomorrow. We are being encouraged to live our lives as if there is no “me.” Its easy to forget that everything we do is part of a bigger picture. It would be easy to feel like there is no point in trying to do something because you will do it no matter what. But if we live our lives as if everything is going to be okay, we have no excuse not to take chances.
This is what we mean when we say that we are living our lives “as if there is no tomorrow.” We are being trained to live life as if there is no tomorrow. The other main thing I like about Deathloop is how, like any game, it does something different and different from what the player was expecting. In many games, the ending is the same. It’s just a repeat of the same thing over and over and over. In Deathloop, you have to find a new ending, you have to do something different. You have to do something that leaves the player with a different ending than what the game was trying to give you.
In many games you have to do something new when you run into something that you knew you had to do but really just didn’t want to. In Deathloop, you get to do something you never knew you had to do before. Not only that, you get to do it in a way that feels different. It’s a sense of freedom that you have never had before.
