I am wood. My name is Wood and I like to play with you. Wood is a great material for many things, such as pencils and paper. It’s also the only thing that can make fire if you have a lighter or matches handy.
If something has been cut, it’s probably made of wood too! Wood is also used for furniture and houses. It’s not a very good insulator though so it can’t be used to keep you warm in winter or cool in summer. Wood has been around since the beginning of time, as far back as we know! I am wood from start to finish! I’m made up of many different trees that grow tall like me, but then get cut down when they’re older than I am now. The sap inside them gets boiled until it becomes my body – yup even this part is woody (awesome)! Then all these little pieces are put together into one big piece which makes up my whole self – woot-woot! That sounds great, doesn’t it!
