Their site is a great resource for interior designers (and anyone who likes to shop) because they have a huge variety of interior design styles to choose from. The one that I’m most familiar with is their “The Home of an Intersecting Interior” series. They have a number of other interior design posts that explain how they do things, but these are my favorites.
I read all of them but I still prefer the The Home of an Intersecting Interior to the one I’m currently working on, because I like the variety that they have.
It’s a series of posts that go into detail on how every piece of furniture in the house is designed, each with a photo of the piece that shows the shape, size, and finishing style of the furniture. It makes it so much easier to see how everything is going to fit together, and how the space around each piece is going to be used.
I’ve always found it interesting I’m not the only one who likes to know exactly what is going to happen to each piece of furniture while it’s being built and why. Most of my furniture is built to fit together, and I want to know what my furniture is going to look like when it’s finished. I like it when they’re not just building some piece of furniture but have a whole series of pieces that makes it look like something else.
I think it is often a case of having too many pieces. That is, having more than a few pieces that aren’t connected. This leads to a lot of confusion for a designer who can’t figure out what the pieces are used for. Ive found that some designers can be the most confused when they’ve built a piece of furniture that is so good that it makes me want to run away from my desk.
One design company I recently worked with ran into this problem in a very specific situation. A client wanted a whole series of office pieces. We agreed that a designer would come in and make a series of them, but only if the pieces were all made from the same block of wood. So, even though one piece is white and the rest are yellow, youre still not quite sure what color it is.
We worked with a company that did this sort of thing. Their team had a huge woodworking shop. They had a very specific style that they wanted to use for all the pieces they built. And they were able to make all of the pieces in their shop look totally different from one another.
Sheppard is a master of this sort of thing and if you could get him to make all of them from the same block of wood, you could say that they are all one piece of furniture. Unfortunately, he’s at war with himself. He can’t seem to tell which piece is which. We hope you’re not going to get a look at the same piece twice in one evening.
The problem with this kind of design is that if you try to use the same wood like this on a wall that has multiple pieces, it is very hard to tell which one is which. As it turns out, the piece of wood that is clearly the main piece that youre seeing is also the one that is obviously the top piece from the top. If you can’t tell which one is which, all you can say is “I told you so.
